If you have a good foundation in each of the academic groups (English, Humanities, Natural Sciences, and especially the Social Sciences) and/or youve taken courses in one of the human service programs, you can work toward a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Marygrove College while you are at Monroe County Community College. If placement tests must be taken, it is possible to test out of these foundation courses, depending on scores achieved in the Placement Tests. | Note: The best preparation for the B.S.W. degree is to have a good foundation in the social sciences, as many general education requirements completed as possible, and a good orientation to the human services. |
| The good news is that at Marygrove you do not have to be formally accepted into the B.S.W. program to begin to elect courses in social work. You can take one or more social work courses while you assess your aptitude for and interest in the profession. If it seems right for you, then DO IT! |
