A Joint Degree Program Curriculum Agreement Between
Washtenaw County Community College and
Monroe County Community College

This articulation agreement between Monroe County Community College. 1555 Raisinville Road Monroe, Michigan (hereinafter referred to as MCCC) and Washtenaw Community College, 4800 East Huron River Drive, Ann Arbor, Michigan (hereinafter referred to as WCC) will go into effect June 15, 2005.

 

 WHEREAS, both colleges desire to make available a Radiologic Technology program to their students, and
WHEREAS, WCC is a State Licensed and North-Central Approved Community College, and
WHEREAS, WCC provides a Radiologic Technology Program accredited by the Joint Review
                 Committee on   Education in Radiologic Technology, and
WHEREAS, both colleges desire to provide educational services to their students, and
WHEREAS, both colleges recognize the community and professional need for Radiographers,

Now, therefore, for and in consideration of the premises and the mutual covenants and agreements herein contained, the parties hereto agree as follows:

 MCCC

a.    Will screen all interested applicants in their service area through their admission office.
b.   Refer qualified candidates to WCC for final selection and program orientation.
c.    Provide the academic courses listed below:
       BIO 155 or 157-158              4 credits
       English 151                          3 credits
       HLTSC 110 (Med Term)     2 credits

Total credits      9 credits 

 

d.   Students will take the following Radiography courses at WCC.
They will be charged according to the normal WCC tuition and fee schedule.

RAD 100          Introduction to Radiography                2 credits

RAD 101          Methods in Patient Care                       2 credits

RAD 110          Clinical Education                               2 credits

RAD 111          Fundamentals of Radiography              2 credits
RAD 112          Radiographic Positioning I                   3 credits

RAD 113          Radiographic Processing                      2 credits

RAD 124          Radiographic Exposure                       3 credits

RAD 120          Clinical Education                               2 credits

RAD 123          Radiographic Positioning II                  3 credits

RAD 125          Radiographic Procedures/Anatomy      3 credits

RAD 127          Radiographic Exposure Lab                1 credits

RAD 150          Clinical Education                               4 credits

RAD 215          Radiography of the Skull                      2 credits

RAD 217          Clinical Education                               3 credits

WCC

a.        Will accept the number of MCCC students that the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology recommends for Monroe Mercy Memorial Hospital Clinical Education Center or other clinical education centers in MCCC’s service area that are affiliated with WCC not to exceed ten (10) students.

b.       Provide Radiography theory courses for MCCC students, for a total of fifty-two (52) credits.

c.        Accept all satisfactorily earned (2.00 GPA or equivalent) credits taken both at MCCC and at WCC.

d.       Award the Associate in Applied Science degree to all MCCC students who complete the requirements for the degree.

e.        Provide overall supervision by the Department Chair/Program Director, and Dean of Health and Applied Technology.

f.        Provide clinical supervision.

g.       Maintain a JRCERT approved Radiography program.
