Credit by Examination
General Information

Credit by Examination can be obtained by three methods at MCCC – CLEP (College-Level Examination Program), AP (Advanced Placement Program, and divisional course testing). Refer to the MCCC catalog for more information (note: Credit by Exam, Tech Prep, Clep & AP are under the "Advanced Standing" section of the catalog.)

By passing a comprehensive examination with a grade of “C” or better, students can earn credit for the following courses within the Business Division

Credit By Examination Test If a student has credit for this class, they may not take this credit by exam:

CIS 130 CIS 142, CIS 172, CIS 173, CIS 174, CIS 176, CIS 180, CIS 185, CIS 186, CIS 187, CIS 189, CIS 205, CIS 208, CIS 209, CIS 220
CIS 132 CIS 150, CIS 152, CIS 179, CIS 274
CIS 171  
ADMN 102 EOS 131-B, ADMN 131-B, WPR 102

Application forms for Business Division credit by examinations are available in the Business Division office located in C233. There is a non-refundable fee for each exam. A student is limited to a single attempt per course for credit by examination. Credit by examination is not available as a vehicle for repeating a course.
