1. Health Odyssey MCCC's annual fitness day features guest speakers, health information, and health screenings including blood pressure, height/weight, skin fold analysis, diabetes screening, blood profiles, and eye screenings. There is a charge for the blood test. 2. Nursing Alumni DayThe Nursing Alumni Day offered on the first Wednesday in June each year is a continuing education day for nurses and other health care providers. Topics focus on identified needs for local practicing nurses. 3. Advisory GroupsWe also have active advisory groups which include representation from employers. The advisory groups make sure that the graduates meet their future employers needs. Jobs in the health areas remain well-paying and abundant! 4. Open Classroom DaysHigh School students are invited to sit in on actual nursing and respiratory therapy classes. They also receive information about the programs offered, admission procedures, and financial aid. 5. Health Education/ScreeningHealth screening is done at various community events. In addition, the Respiratory Therapy director demonstrates educational heart and lung dissections to school children around the county. |
