Mercy Memorial Hospital System is pleased to announce the
Harold J. & Helen Rammler Endowed Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship, is available to help relieve the shortage of nurses at MMHS, is intended to assist full-time student currently in or entering a registered nursing program. Eligible applicants must apply and qualify under the scholarship guidelines. MERCY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL NURSING SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility: The recipient acknowledges and accepts the following terms:
1. Recipient will become employed with Mercy Memorial Hospital as a Nurse Extern during the nursing program and/or as a Registered Nurse immediately following graduation from Monroe County Community College.
2. Recipient must complete satisfactory employment as an R.N. for a period equivalent to one (1) year full-time employment (2080 hours). Two (2) years full-time employment (4160 hours) will be required if a second Mercy Memorial Hospital Nursing Scholarship is awarded.
3. Any unused scholarship funds will remain on account with the Financial Aid Office at MCCC. The working commitment to Mercy Memorial Hospital outlined above will remain in full.
Recipient acknowledges and accepts that repayment of all scholarship monies received will be due and payable immediately if:
1. Recipient withdraws from the nursing program at MCCC.
2. Recipient does not satisfactorily complete the nursing program at MCCC.
3. Recipient never begins employment as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Memorial Hospital. In such event, recipient will immediately notify the Human Resources Department at Mercy Memorial Hospital at which time arrangements will be made for full repayment of the total scholarship amounts received.

STATE OF MICHIGAN NURSE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Eligibility: The recipient:
1. must reside in the State of Michigan.
2. must intend to practice within the State of Michigan in an under served area, with an under served population, or in a health professional shortage area as identified by the Board (all of Michigan qualifies).
3. cannot be in receipt of a full scholarship from another source.
This scholarship is awarded to each student on a one-time basis only.
Scholarship forms are available in the Health Sciences Division Office during regular business hours.

EUGENE W. BEACH SCHOLARSHIP:
Eligibility: The recipient:
1. must be a second year student.
2. must demonstrate above average academic and clinical performance in the program.
3. must consistently evidence a high degree of personal and professional integrity.
Stipend: $1,200

THE GUILD OF MERCY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL SCHOLARSHIP
One (1) $3,000 scholarship shall be awarded in January for tuition, fees, books and emergency childcare expenses at the MCCC Child Care Center (child care limited to $100 per semester). Apply for the Guild of Mercy Memorial Hospital Scholarship in November.
Eligibility:
1. Students applying must be accepted into the MCCC Nursing Program and maintain a 2.5 GPA.
2. Recipient must be a Monroe County resident and a citizen of the United States.
3. Financial need may be considered.
4. Volunteer experience in community service in a health care setting would be preferred.
5. Recipient must indicate dedication to the study of nursing and intention to complete the degree program.
6. Recipient must sign an agreement to return the full amount of the scholarship money to the Guild of Mercy Memorial Hospital System if recipient does not complete the nursing program.
7. Recipient must agree to be employed at Mercy Memorial Hospital System for one (1) year after graduation.
8. The scholarship will be awarded equally between three semesters: winter, fall, and winter.

MARY FRASER NURSING SCHOLARSHIP
The Mary Fraser Nursing Scholarship will provide scholarship support for second year nursing students who reside in Monroe County, Michigan. The scholarship award covers tuition, fees, and books. It will be awarded annually and is non-renewable.
Eligibility: The recipient:
1. must be a second year nursing student;
2. must maintain 2.5 or higher grade point average;
3. must be a Monroe County resident;
4. must carry a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester;
5. must submit a one-page essay outlining his/her career goals;
6. will preferably be a parent.
Stipend: $1,000

RICHARD H. HICKS AND BERNICE HICKS NURSING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The scholarship will be awarded annually for tuition, fees, and books. It will be divided equally between the fall and winter semesters.
Eligibility: The recipient:
1. must be enrolled in the Registered Nursing Program;
2. must submit an essay outlining educational and career goals;
3. must demonstrate through essay and educational background their academic ability and work ethic;
4. will preferably be a veteran or have immediately family members who are veterans.
Stipend: $1,500

BAUMANN NURSING SCHOLARSHIP
Donor: Michelle Baumann and Marvin Baumann
Eligibility: Nursing Program student or Nursing Program applicant taking courses in preparation for enrollment; minimum GPA for fall semester of 3.2, winter semester 3.0; non-traditional student (25 years of age or older); Monroe County resident; minimum of six credit hours during award semester.
Stipend: $500 for tuition, fees and MCCC Child Care Center costs.
Number: One for fall semester and one for winter semester.
DR. GERALD L. HOWE SCHOLARSHIP (APRIL 1 DEADLINE)
Donor: Dr. Gerald L. Howe
Eligibility: Full-time student enrolled in health related curriculum, Monroe County Resident, graduated in top 25 percent of high school class in college prep curriculum, academic promise.
Stipend: $1,000 per year
