Substance Abuse Policies
|
Drug screening is required for admission to the nursing program. MCCC has a zero tolerance policy for substance use/abuse while in the program. The college reserves the right to randomly drug test nursing students throughout the program and/ or require an immediate drug screen for nursing students whose behavior or other conduct makes faculty/staff suspect substance use/ abuse. Specific policies are listed in the Nursing Student Handbook. Policies are in effect for all students admitted and active in the nursing program. Some clinical agencies are initiating random drug testing for staff and students assigned to their agency. Refusal to allow mandatory or requested drug testing will result in immediate program dismissal and potential college disciplinary actions. If you do not understand this information please talk to a college counselor or the Dean of Health Sciences.
