Film in American Society: HUMAN 255 - Outine of Instruction This course is a chronological survey of the development of American cinema. Changes in the productive forces and social relation will be identified and discussed in terms of their influence on the kinds and content of movies produced in the United States. At the same time, this course will explore the various ways in which film makers adapted to and/or criticized these same influences. |

The Humanities/Social Sciences Division is the largest academic division at Monroe County Community College. The Humanities department offers courses in art, English composition, literature, drama, music, various foreign languages, and speech. The Social Sciences Department offers courses in anthropology, history, political science, and sociology. Academic scholarships are available in art, band, choir, drama, and journalism. Many of our programs - - band, choir, and drama - - have significant community involvement. |
