AUTO ENGINEERING TEHCNOLOGY INSTURCTOR

Full-time position in the Applied Sciences and Engineering Technology (ASET) Division. Instructor primarily responsible for teaching courses in the Auto Engineering Technology program. Additional duties include promoting, directing, developing, and implementing daily operation of Auto Engineering program including development of new curriculum, assisting in selection of appropriate adjunct (part-time) faculty for the program, and equipment planning and procurement for program area in the lab. Bachelor of Science degree in Auto Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related Engineering field. Master’s degree or higher in Engineering or Engineering field preferred. Five plus years of experience in automotive industry in one or more areas to include engine testing and performance, with emphasis on dynamometer testing (both chassis and engine), knowledge of emissions testing and vibration analysis highly desirable. Evidenced teaching skill and ability to identify and implement assessment of student learning strategies and practices. Teaching experience preferred. WELDING INSTRUCTOR

Full-time position responsible for teaching AAS degree and certificate students in Welding. Teaching to AWS SENSE curriculum standards at the basic and intermediate levels. Certification courses conform to AWS QC-10:  2008 and AWS QC-11:  1996 standards. Qualifications include Bachelor degree required in the Industrial Technology/Engineering areas. (AAS degree in Welding or equivalent with substantial coursework completed towards a Bachelor degree in a relevant field may be considered. Completion of Bachelor degree, however, would be required with three years of probationary period of hire for continuing status as faculty.) Master’s degree preferred. Minimum five years’ work experience in the welding field required. Journey person credentials in addition to academic qualification preferred. Demonstrated capability in performing hands on positional welding and cutting operations such as SMAW, GMAW/FCAW, GTAW, OFC, OAC and plasma cutting. AWS certification (CWI/CWE) or AWS certification must be attained within one year of hire for continuation of employment required. PT PERKINS SPECIAL POPULATIONS COUNSELOR

The Disability Services unit at Monroe County Community College seeks part-time Perkins Special Populations Counselor (adjunct faculty status) to work with students in state-approved occupational programs. Counselor develops programs and conducts outreach and recruitment activities. Provides career assessment inventories and interpretations. Conducts needs assessments to determine challenges faced by special populations students. Assists in planning and developing projects each year for the Perkins grant application. Qualifications include Master’s degree with LPC or LLPC required. Day and evening hours required. Scheduling for position follows the academic year with a 36-week work calendar ranging from mid-August to mid-May each year, 15-20 hours per week. Start date of January 18. Possible course teaching assignments may include:  Design Concepts, ADOBE Creative Cloud applications including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Web Graphics and Design, Web Animation.

Minimum qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Graphic Design, Web Design, or related field.
Working knowledge of current practice and theory in graphic design, design for mobile device preferred.
Two years related experience in the design field with specific experience and background using Muse, Adobe Edge, and other standard industry software.
Teaching experience, preferably in a collegiate setting.
Superior communication, planning and organizational skills; ability to effectively deliver outstanding educational opportunities; and work in a strong team setting.
