Some of My Interests

Professional
I am involved in several regional and national professional mathematics and education organizations.
·         American Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges (AMATYC)
I chair the women's subcommittee on the AMATYC Equal Opportunity in Mathematics Committee,
and serve on the Distance Education and Teacher Preparation Committees.
·         Mathematical Association of America (MAA)
·         Michigan Mathematical Association of Two year Colleges (MichMATYC)
MichMATYC 2001 Conference – It’s DEEP: A Year of Intermediate Algebra On-line
·         National Association of Developmental Education (NADE)
Personal
In my free time I go to the Toledo Zoo, Toledo Art Museum, and volunteer at Family House, a transitional shelter for homeless families.   I am the editor of their newsletter and recently created their web page. Look for it soon.
When I am not grading papers and exams, I enjoy reading books about math type of stuff, and can spend hours doing origami and drawing.
