Database “Help-with-Citation” Tools

Database citation shortcuts (Cite This, How to Cite, Citation Tools, etc.) are useful timesavers. However, the results should be double-checked for completeness or unnecessary information and for format details such as capitalization, italics, font, etc.

EBSCO

Use the Cite This Article button , 4th from right above the individual record display.

Choose the desired version (MLA, APA, etc.) from the various citation styles displayed. Copy and paste into the Cited Works or Reference List section of your paper. Double-check details such as capitalization, fonts, and format and for completeness or unnecessary information. Note that EBSCO was still using the older APA 5th Edition style as of Dec 2009.

Use the Citation Tools link to the right side of the article record display.

Choose the desired style option, such as MLA 7th Edition or APA, and then the Save button. Choose to open the file and then copy into the Cited Works or Reference List section of your document. Double-check the details, font, format and for unnecessary information. Note that the older APA 5th Edition style was still being used as of December 2009.
