MONROE, Mich. – In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Kalamazoo-based progressive Celtic band Blarney Castle will perform at Monroe County Community College’s La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater on Saturday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m.

A “St. Patrick’s Day Pre-Party” is scheduled for 6 p.m. in conjunction with the show in the atrium of the La-Z-Boy Center.  It will feature a cash bar and munchies.

Blarney Castle, which just recently began going by a new moniker, “The Founding,” was formed by students at Western Michigan University in 2015.  The six members formed the band when they discovered their mutual love for traditional and folk music.  The band’s music blends the technicality of Western Classicism with the rich folk music heritages of Ireland and Scotland and a progressive energy that appeals to audiences of all ages.

Reserved seating is $15 and $25 for VIP seating, which includes balcony seating, munchies and cash bar during the show. Tickets can be purchased on the Web at www.monroeccc.edu/theater, in person at the Cashier’s Office in the Warrick Student Services/Administration Building or via phone by calling the MCCC Ticket Hotline at (734) 384-4272.   If available, tickets will also be available at the door.

The La-Z-Boy Center is located on MCCC’s Main Campus at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd., Monroe.
