Info Meetings Set For 2019 British Isles Study Abroad Trip

MONROE, Mich. – Students and community members can to join a Study Abroad Program trip to the British Isles slated for 2019, and several information meetings have been set.

The trip will include visits to England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.  The target dates for the trip are May 13-27, 2019.  All meetings will be held in Room 203 (Board Room) of the La-Z-Boy Center on the Main Campus at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. unless otherwise noted.  

The meeting dates include:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 12, 7-8 p.m. 
  • Thursday, Sept. 13, 2-3 p.m. (Note:  This meeting will be held in Room 173B of the Audrey M. Warrick Student Services/Administration Building). 
  • Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2-3 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, Sept. 19, 5-6 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, Oct. 2, 7-8 p.m. 
  • Thursday Oct. 4, 12:30- 1:30 p.m. 
  • Tuesday, Oct. 9, 1:30- 2:30 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, Oct. 10, 5-6 p.m. 

While on the trip, students will take coursework to earn credits towards their degree. Classes offered will include Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing and Art Appreciation.  Students can take one, two or all three of the 3-credit courses. 

Community members who participate in the tour must enroll in at least one of the courses. 

The price of the trip is between $3,929 and $4,449. Information on fundraising and payment options will be discussed in the scheduled meetings. Individuals must attend a meeting and fill out an application before registering for the trip.

This will be MCCC’s seventh year of offering Study Abroad.  Previous trips took students and community members to Spain, Western Europe, Southeast Asia, Central Europe, Austria, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, Greece, England, Scotland, Sweden and Finland.
