AGORA CHORALE AND COLLEGE/COMMUNITY
SYMPHONY BAND TO PRESENT “A FALL CONCERT”

            MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College’s Agora Chorale and College/Community Symphony Band will present “A Fall Concert” on Monday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater.

The Chorale, directed by John Tyner with accompanist Staci Dreger, will perform:

  • “Man and His World” by Robert J. Hughes
  • “Since First I Saw your Face” by Michael Larkin
  • “Prayer Before Sleep” by Sid Robinovitch
  • “By Your Side and in Your Heart” by Ruth Elaine Schram
  • “Danny Boy” arranged by Douglas E. Wagner
  • “The Turtle Dove” arranged by John Purifoy
  • “Sing and Rejoice Before the Lord” by Wolfgang A. Mozart

The Band, directed by Mark Felder, will perform:

  • “American Overture for Band” by Joseph Wilcox Jenkins
  • “Flight of Valor” by James Swearingen
  • “American Civil War Fantasy” by Jerry H. Bilik
  • “America, the Beautiful” by Samuel Augustus Ward, arranged by Carmen Dragon

The Band and Chorale will jointly perform “Hymn to the Fallen” by John Williams, arranged by Paul Lavender.
 
The La-Z-Boy Center is located on the college’s Main Campus at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.  The concert is free and open to the public.
