NATIONALLY KNOWN PIANIST, RADIO HOST GREG KOSTRABA TO PERFORM WITH COLLEGE/COMMUNITY SYMPHONY BAND
Agora Chorale to be Joined by Members of Dundee
High School Chamber Choir and Concert Choir
MONROE, Mich. - On Monday, April 28, nationally known pianist and radio host Greg Kostraba will join the College/Community Symphony Band, which is directed by Mark Felder, for a performance in the La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater.
The performance is free and open to the public and begins at 7:30 p.m.
Kostraba, a resident of south Toledo, has received accolades for his 2004 performance at the Fourth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. In addition, he won the 2007 Ohio Public Broadcasting Award for Radio Producer of the Year. Kostraba is the classical music director and senior radio host for WGTE.
Entitled “Poetry and Piano,” this season’s band concert will highlight works by George Gershwin, Johann Strauss and Philip Sparke. Music by David Hosinger, John Barnes Chance and James Curnow will also be featured.
MCCC’s Agora Chorale will perform in the Meyer Theater on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. The Chorale’s performance is also free and open to the public.
Joining the chorale will be members of the Dundee High School Chamber Choir and Concert Choir. The concert will include music by Franz Joseph Haydn, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Greg Gilpin.
The Agora Chorale is directed by John Tyner and accompanied by Staci Dreger. The Dundee High School choirs are directed by Brianne Boyd.
