PETERS JOINS MCCC AS COORDINATOR
FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING

Jeff PetersMONROE, Mich. ­­– Jeffery Peters has joined Monroe County Community College as coordinator for teaching and learning, a new position at the college.

Peters, who officially started with the college in the fall, is responsible for supporting faculty in the use of technology for curriculum development, instructional delivery and support, enhancement of the learning environment and the assessment of student learning. 

“Jeff’s personal and professional experience is outstanding,” said Dr. Grace Yackee, vice president of instruction for MCCC.  “He had the unanimous recommendation of the search team in charge of filling this new post.”

Peters, who resides in Toledo, Ohio, has more than 15 years of university experience in the areas of recruitment, development, marketing, communications and distance learning. 

He came to MCCC from the University of Toledo, where he served as senior instructional designer in the Office of Distance Learning.  He has been a part-time instructor for the communications department at UT since 1998 and had a full-time visiting professor assignment for the 2000-2001 academic year.

Peters has a master of education degree in higher education administration and a bachelor of arts degree in communication from UT.  In addition, he has completed several credit hours toward a Ph.D. in educational technology.
