MCCC TO HOST SHANIA TWIN CONCERT JAN. 19

Monroe’s Own Country Singer/Songwriter,
Cherie, to Open for Tribute to Shania Twain

MONROE, Mich. – Shania Twin, the premier tribute singer to Shania Twain, will perform a concert at Monroe County Community College on Saturday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m. in MCCC’s La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater.

Considered “the best” Shania Twain impersonator by none other than Shania Twain herself (during an interview on TNN Prime Time), Twin – also known as Donna Huber – is one of the most sought-after acts for fairs, festivals and exhibitions in North America.  She has been featured on national television networks such as CBC, TNN and Bravo.

Opening for Shania Twin is Monroe’s own country singer/songwriter, Cherie.

Huber, a native of Ontario, Canada, operated a small bakery for several years, where people often commented on her striking resemblance to Twain.  After months of research on the singer and intense practice perfecting Twain’s singing style and stage mannerism, Huber and an agent/friend formed a band and took her show on tour.  

She has been touring for more than six years and is considered the most successful tribute act in Canada.  In addition, Huber has recorded a duet with Canadian recording artist John Mackintoahasa and produced her own CD entitled “Bring It On.”

Tickets for the Shania Twin are $20 for reserved seating and $30 for VIP seating, which includes balcony seating, munchies and a cash bar. Tickets may be purchased:

The Meyer Theater is located in the La-Z-Boy Center on the college’s main campus at 1555 S. Raisinville Road.
