FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

COMMUNITY MEMBERS, BUSINESS LEADERS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE
IN ‘VISIONING FORUM’ FOR MCCC ON FEB. 7

Forum Part of 3-5 Year Strategic Planning Process

MONROE, Mich. – Community members and business leaders are invited to participate in a Visioning Forum for Monroe County Community College on February 7, 2008 at the La-Z-Boy Center, which is located at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.

The Visioning Forum, which is part of the college’s 3-5 year strategic planning process, will run from 5-6:30 p.m. It will take place in La-Z-Boy Center rooms 257/258/259/260.

The forum is intended to energize and engage the campus community in visualizing MCCC’s future.  Several forums are also being held with MCCC employees and students.  Feedback will serve in drafting a vision statement for MCCC and for the beginning of an “environmental scan” relative to what students, community members and business leaders need MCCC to provide in the next 3-5 years to meet their needs.

All the collected feedback from the forums will be summarized in a report that will be shared across the MCCC campus.  The data will then be used by the Institutional Plan Coordinating Committee or an appointed task force to develop an initial vision statement, which will be shared for reaction and input at several all-campus meetings.  Feedback from the meetings will be incorporated into the vision statement prior to its finalization.
