FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MCCC’S ON-CAMPUS RESTAURANT TO BECOME
PROHIBITION-ERA CLUB FOR ONE WEEK THIS MONTH

MONROE, Mich. – Next week, and for one week only, Monroe County Community College’s Cuisine 1300 Restaurant will be transformed into The WiseGuy Club, where customers will enjoy the ambience of a Prohibition-era club, complete with memorabilia and decor from that time.

On Monday, Feb. 25 and Wednesday, Feb. 27 through Friday, Feb. 29, Chef Kevin Thomas and the second-year culinary skills and management students will be donning their 1920s best and jotting down orders off a menu reminiscent of a speakeasy during the days of Al Capone and Lucky Luciano.

Two seatings will be available each day:  one at 11 a.m. and one at 12:30 p.m.  Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Cashier’s office at (734) 384-4231.

Examples of lunch items that will be found on The WiseGuy Club menu include the Chicago Chief Italian Beef Sandwich, The Al Capone Calzone, Pauly’s Panini and The Godfather, an original creation of the MCCC culinary skills and management students consisting of spaghetti chicken parmesan and garlic aioli stacked high on a toasted hoagie bun.  Lunch items can be partnered with a variety of sides, such as Big Al’s Pacino Pasta Salad and West Side Wedge Fries.

Among the desserts to be offered are the DeNiro “You Talkin to Me?” Cannoli and the Sinatra “My Way” Cheesecake.
