PROFESSOR: Robert Tarrant OFFICE: LRC-213, 734-384-4293 OFFICE HOURS: ATTENDANCE: Students missing class because of illness or required attendance at a college-sponsored event can earn attendance points by one of the following: 1. Provide a written excuse from a doctor. CHEATING: The following items are considered forms of cheating and will result in disciplinary action if they occur during a test or quiz: 1) any discussion with someone other than the instructor; 2) copying from another student's work; 3) the use of any materials other than those specified by the instructor. GRADING: The student's grade will
be determined by their performance on the tests, quizzes, and homework,
plus attendance points earned. The quizzes and homework will be weighted
so as to equal one, 100 point test. The final letter grades will be based
on the total points earned: W and I A grade of "I" (incomplete) will be assigned to students whose term work is incomplete in a MINOR way. An "I" grade will be reserved for critical situations that arise that are beyond the control of the student, e.g. hospital illness, death in family, etc. Make-ups will be allowed on all tests but
not on quizzes or homework. Missed quizzes or unsubmitted homework will
be assigned a score of zero. With regard to make-up tests, (1) HOMEWORK: HOMEWORK IS A REQUIREMENT OF THIS COURSE AND IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF THIS CLASS. STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE ALL HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS COMPLETED IN A NEAT MANNER BEFORE COMING TO CLASS. Students unable to consistently fulfill this requirement will be requested to drop the class.
