Attention High School Students, Parents and Career-Changing Adults

The Applied Science and Engineering Technology (ASET) Division at Monroe County Community College will be conducting a free, X-TECH, open house for students, boys and girls, grades 9-12 and their parents to explore Career and Technical Education/Occupational Programs in the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through engagement in hands-on activities, classroom demonstrations, and demonstrations by industry partners. A special section on STEM Careers hosted by successful women in technology from the area will also be part of the open house.  The event will be held with an aim to educate young people about career opportunities in technology areas such as Mechanical Design (CAD), Machine Tools/CNC, Green Construction, Welding/Non Destructive Testing, Electrical, Robotics, Nuclear Power, Automotive Technology, and Metrology/Quality Systems. Each program will demonstrate high demand and high wage jobs in their respective areas, including opportunities for non-traditional careers.
