Roger Olson and Lela Wadlin Emergency Scholarship

Photo of Roger Olson and Lela Wadlin (L-R)In 2019, Roger and Lela established The Foundation's first-ever endowed emergency scholarship, which is awarded through our initiative called "Project Persist." This scholarship, established immediately preceding the COVID-19 Pandemic, was instrumental during the height of the pandemic as MCCC worked to keep students enrolled and focused on their studies.

Support from their endowment continues to provide a perpetual stream of aid for students confronting emergencies that threaten to disrupt their educational pursuits. To join Roger and Lela's generosity, click on the GIVE button below to make a donation to their endowment.

Project Persist

Project Persist meets students where they are by providing a proactive, intrusive and holistic network of support to address emergencies before they can spiral into an irreversible crisis. Unlike traditional scholarships, emergency support offers financial relief to students at the point of need and often helps students pay for expenses beyond tuition, fees and books. With maximum flexibility, tuition support relies on the expertise of financial aid and advising staff to identify at-risk students and offer financial support to improve their chance of success.

Your investment in our students can have a generational impact by altering the economic trajectory of entire families. Your support will enrich and transform the lives of our students and create ripples of opportunity throughout our community.
