The Husky College Comeback is Monroe County Community College’s degree completion and debt forgiveness program that provides a one-time pathway for students who are unable to register for classes due to a debt owed to MCCC. Students accepted into the Husky College Comeback will have the financial hold temporarily lifted to allow them to register. Debt up to $2,500 will be forgiven upon the completion of a degree, credential or successful transfer.
To be eligible for consideration in the Husky College Comeback Program, a student must*:
- Be a resident of Monroe County, Michigan.
- Be seeking a degree or credit certificate.
- Not have attended Monroe County Community College for at least six semesters.
- Enroll at MCCC in the following Fall or Winter semester with at least six contact hours.
- Have the ability to pay in full, sign up for the payment plan or have financial aid cover the balance for the semester they will be re-enrolling at the time of registration.
- Not already been awarded a degree or certificate from MCCC.
*Exceptions to these eligibility requirements may be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, the residency requirement cannot be waived.
