Why Choose Monroe County Community College?
- A top-ranked community college: MCCC is ranked in the top 9% of community colleges in the nation. (WalletHub 2025).
- Small classes, personal attention and high-quality instruction: MCCC's faculty to student ratio is 15:1. Our faculty members are well-respected and highly knowledgeable in their field. And their true passion is teaching. They do not perform research while their courses are taught by graduate students, as can often be the case at big universities. MCCC faculty members are accessible and very responsive to student needs; they offer personal instruction in small classroom settings.
- Online and Blended Learning: MCCC offers classes where and when you need them, including online in an entirely Web-based format and blended classes with a significant amount of Web-based instruction and some classroom instruction.
- Low Tuition: You’ll find the tuition at MCCC to be among the lowest in the region and the state. And, for Monroe County residents, MCCC’s in-district tuition rate is about one-third that of most four-year public colleges and universities. And, MCCC is offering in-county tuition for eligible students from Lourdes University and Siena Heights University who enroll at MCCC no later than Winter 2027, with the in-county tuition rate applying through Summer 2029.
- Numerous Academic Pathways: At MCCC, every passion has a pathway. We help you explore your passions and find the future that’s right for you by offering credit courses across a wide range of disciplines through numerous academic pathways, including:
