The Division of Humanities/Social Sciences is holding auditions for this year's student play, The Three Musketeers, adapted by Ken Ludwig. This adaptation is based on the timeless swashbuckling adventure by Alexandre Dumas, a tale of heroism, treachery, close escapes, and above all, honor. Young D’Artagnan travels to Paris, where he encounters the greatest heroes of the day – Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, the famous musketeers – and he joins forces with them to defend the honor of the Queen of France. In so doing, he finds himself in opposition to the most dangerous man in Europe, Cardinal Richelieu. Even more deadly is the infamous Countess de Winter, known as Milady, who will stop at nothing to exact revenge.

Auditions will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 21 and 22, 7-10 pm, in the Holladay Theater (lower level of the Campbell Academic Center). Roles of various sizes; all levels of experience welcome. Those auditioning will be asked to read aloud from the script. Some scheduling conflicts can be accommodated. Rehearsals start on Tuesdays/Thursdays beginning Oct. 28, 7-10 p.m., run through Dec. 18 (for winter break) and then will resume in the Winter Semester on Jan. 13 following the same schedule. We are also seeking backstage help (costumes, props, set).

For direct questions, see Angie Lai in person or via alai@monroeccc.edu. Performances are April 9-12, 2026 in the La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater.
