The Big Gig!
Monroe County’s 36th Annual Black History Month Blues Concert

General Admission – FREE
Doors will open at 6 p.m.

MCCC will collaborate once again with the Monroe County Library System and a unique “Blue Coalition” of community co-sponsors to cap off Monroe County’s 36th annual Black History Month Blues Series.

The Big Gig’s headliner will be the R.J. Spangler Blues Review with special guest vocalists Tosha Owens, Sean Carney and John “Tbone” Paxton. The group will pay tribute to the Detroit blues sound past and present. Rev. Robert. B. Jones, musical director for the Blues Series and Big Gig, will open the show as he has since its establishment in 1988, followed by the new generation of Detroit blues displayed by singer and guitarist Chris Canas and his band.
