Collage is back!
Collage brings together a diverse variety of musical fabrics and textures. It is a unique presentation of the arts that is a study in antithesis, calling for rapid juxtaposition of musical styles and forms without the interruption of applause. The Collage Concert concept was pioneered by the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y. and the University of Michigan.
The first performance of the MCCC Collage Concert was in 2008, when Mark Felder, director of the College/Community Symphony Band, brought the concept to Monroe. The last installment of the Monroe County Community College Collage Concert was held in 2015. Under Felder’s leadership, collage will make its triumphant return to the La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater on February 22, 2026 with a matinee and evening performance.
