The Foundation at MCCC Awards the Giuseppe Chirco Vocational Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Giuseppe Chirco Vocational Scholarship to Joseph Swift. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.

Swift, of Newport, is a 2017 graduate of Lutheran High School - Westland and is currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management Technology at MCCC. While attending high school, he participated in school service which involved working on the beautification of the school. He received the Perfect Attendance, Most Improved in Hand Bells, Certificate of Achievement Math Perseverance and Excellence in Journalism awards. He is the son of Stacey and George Swift.

To be eligible for this scholarship a student must be enrolled in an occupational program of study that is related to construction trades, be at least a part-time student at MCCC, a resident of Monroe County, Michigan, United States citizen and have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.
