The Foundation at MCCC Awards the Roy Turner Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Roy Turner Scholarship to Dominic Flint. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books, and fees.

Flint, of Newport, is a 2017 graduate of St. Mary Catholic Central High School and is pursuing a Criminal Justice Degree at MCCC. He is a volunteer at St. Charles Parish helping with monthly breakfasts and the school’s CYO league. He is the son of Rodney and Jessica Flint.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a Monroe County resident and a Monroe County firefighter or the child or grandchild of a local (Monroe County) firefighter. Additionally, the student must have a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average, and must maintain full-time enrollment status of at least 12 credit hours per semester.
