MCCC Awards the MCCC Alumni Family Member Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College has awarded the MCCC Alumni Family Member Scholarship to Goldie Boes and Aidan Proffitt. The $2,500 scholarships are to be used for tuition, books, fees and essential supplies.

Boes of Monroe is a 2017 graduate of Monroe High School. Boes plans to achieve an Associate of Science while attending MCCC, before transferring to Mercy College of Ohio to pursue a bachelor’s degree in science and nursing. Goldie is the daughter of Trudy and Charles Boes.

Proffitt of Monroe is a 2018 graduate of Monroe High School. Proffitt will be pursuing an associate’s degree in business administration at MCCC, before transferring to a four-year university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Proffitt is a member of National Honor Society. Aidan is the son of Melissa and Brian Proffitt.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be Monroe County resident, an U.S. Citizen, a Monroe County high school graduate, and an immediate relative (child or spouse) of an MCCC graduate or student who earned 24 or more credits at MCCC. Additionally, a student must maintain full-time enrollment status of 12 credit hours or more. Special consideration will be given to a relative of an MCCC Alumni Association member in good standing.
