MONROE, Mich. – At a special meeting on Friday, the Monroe County Community College Board of Trustees voted to approve a Master Agreement between the Community College District of Monroe County and the MCCC Faculty Association. The Master Agreement was ratified by the Faculty Association on Thursday.
The contract was approved by a trustees’ vote of 6-0 and covers the 62 full-time faculty positions at the college.
The contract runs through August 22, 2021 and provides a 1 percent increase on the salary schedule in both years of the contract. It also includes an upgrade to the dental insurance plan coverage. MCCC President Dr. Kojo Quartey recommended the trustees’ approval of the contract, stating that it is a significant recognition of the college and faculty continuing to work together to benefit MCCC students and the community.
Board members present for the meeting were Lynette Dowler, chair; Mary Kay Thayer, vice chair; Aaron Mason, secretary; Florence Buchanan, trustee; William T. Bruck, trustee, and Krista Lambrix, trustee. Trustee Steven Hill was absent.
