MCCC ANNOUNCES FALL SEMESTER BOOKSTORE PROCEDURES IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19

In accordance with Governor's Gretchen Whitmer's Executive Order No. 2020.145, please be advised of the following procedures that will be enforced by the MCCC Bookstore for the Fall 2020 Semester in response to COVID-19:

  • Please do not enter if you are or have recently been sick.
  • Everyone entering the MCCC Bookstore store is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing of at least six feet.
  • All customers must adhere to the traffic flow arrows and social distancing stickers located on the floor to minimize contact with others.
  • The store capacity is limited to 25 percent of the total occupancy limits established by the state fire marshal. The occupancy limit of the MCCC Bookstore is 37 total.  A 25 percent mandate limits occupancy to nine, including workers.
  • In an effort to ease long wait times, the Bookstore requests that customers leave their contact information with Safety Services personnel outside the Bookstore, return to their vehicles and wait for notification from a member of the MCCC Bookstore staff that it is time to come in to the building.
  • Due to the possible wait times in the Bookstore, it is highly recommended that students utilize the online ordering system available at www.monroeccc.edu/bookstore.  Online orders can be delivered directly to students via UPS or will be available for pick-up outside the Bookstore.
  • Two hours per week are being dedicated shopping time for vulnerable populations: people over 60, pregnant women and those with chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and lung disease. These dedicated shopping times will be Tuesdays from 8-9 a.m. and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
  • The MCCC Bookstore is dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe environment for our staff and customers.  Store employees clean the checkout counter, credit card keypad and shopping baskets at least once per hour.  Hand sanitizer is available for all to use.
