THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE JOANNE D. SMITH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Joanne D. Smith Memorial Scholarship to Kayla Homolka. The $1,250 scholarship is used to cover costs of tuition, book and fees.

Homolka of Petersburg is a 2017 graduate of Whiteford High School. She is studying nursing while attending MCCC and is a member of the Student Nurses Association. Homolka is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for Monroe Community Ambulance and is the daughter of Charlie and Dawn Homolka.

To be eligible for this scholarship a student must be enrolled in a transfer program, maintain full-time student enrollment status of twelve credit hours, and a member of the College/Community Band or Agora Chorale during the scholarship year. Also, the student must be a U.S. citizen and a Monroe County resident. Preference will be given to an Ida High School graduate and someone who demonstrates financial need.
