The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Monroe County Exchange Club Scholarship to Colton Hirst of Monroe. The $1,250 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Kirst a 2020 Monroe High School graduate and is pursuing a degree in the automotive engineering technology program while attending MCCC. He has participated in fundraising for local charities including Gabby’s Ladder, Holiday Camp and Alzheimer’s Association. while attending high school, he was a member of the National Honor Society, cross country team and concert band. He is the son of Don and Sara Hirst.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a resident of Monroe County, and a graduate of Ida High School, Jefferson High School, Monroe High School or St. Mary Catholic Central High School.
Additional consideration will be given to students with financial need and student participants of the Monroe Exchange Club Junior Exchange Program.
