The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Perry Scholarship to Sophia Ford. The $2,200 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Ford of Petersburg is a 2020 graduate of Summerfield High School. She will be pursing an associate degree while attending MCCC, then transfer to a four-year university. While attending high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society and a Student Council class representative volunteering for several different causes. She is a member of Crossroads Community church and is involved in 4-H. She is the daughter of Jennifer and Craig Ford.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must maintain full time enrollment, have a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled in a transfer program that is offered at MCCC.
