Monroe County Community College and Northwood University are partnering to offer a new entrepreneurial-focused online seminar series for students and the community. The first session will be offered on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 7 p.m.
“Participants simply need to go to www.tiny.cc/sidehustlenu to participate,” said Barry Kinsey, director of the Workforce Development office at MCCC.
The side hustle phenomenon has grown exponentially in recent months in part in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, 45% of working Americans report having a side hustle motivated either by the unprecedented ability to make extra money or out of economic necessity, according to sidehustlenation.org.
The workshop will be presented by Jim Hop, entrepreneur, ssociate professor, and chair of entrepreneurship and franchising Management, at Northwood University. Created for those who aspire to own their own business, the Start Your Side Hustle webinar series will explore the unique skills that entrepreneurs share the what helps them be successful. Topics will include products, pricing, marketing taxes and other topics important to creating a profitable business.
