LIFELONG LEARNING CULINARY OPEN HOUSE SET FOR JAN. 30

culinary open houseMonroe County Community College's Office of Lifelong Learning will host a Culinary Open House on January 30.

At the open house, attendees will get to enjoy a sampling of foods that they can learn how to make this semester through various noncredit workshops and classes.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will run from 5:30-730 p.m. in the college's Cuisine 1300 restaurant, which is located in the Warrick Student Center (Building A) adjacent to the Office of Admissions and Guidance.

According to Tina Pillarelli, director of Lifelong Learning, MCCC's chef instructors will be available to answer questions about the food being served, as well as what will be covered in the upcoming course offerings.

This winter and spring, there will be eight new Lifelong Learning culinary classes, including Create a Personalized Cutting Board, Soups On II, Battle of the Wines, Special Diet Seminar, Preserving and Canning, Taste of Greece, Taste of Spain, and Grilling and Smoking.

Returning classes include Charcuterie Board Workshop, Cooking with Beer, Cuisine Cooking -- German, and Mexican Cantina.

The classes cost from $99-$299 per class, and there are discounts on all of them for senior citizens.
