MCCC'S INSIDE OUT DANCE ENSEMBLE PRESENTS "SOUNDTRACKS" APRIL 15 - 16

The Monroe County Community College Inside Out Dance Ensemble will present “Soundtracks” on Saturday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. with a repeat performance Sunday, April 16, at 3 p.m. in the La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater, located on MCCC’s Main Campus at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.

As the name "Soundtracks" implies, the musical selections for this year's performances range from classic movies, including "Jailhouse Rock" starring Elvis, "Shall We Dance," with Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney to modern era films including, "Avatar The Way of the Water" and "Top Gun." The full program of performances can be found at www.monoreccc.edu/events under the SOUNDTRACKS event listings.

With nearly 30 different selections and using a combination of group dance performances, solo and duet dance performances, and several guitar and vocal interludes by Kevin R. Daniels, "Soundtracks" will certainly appeal to a very broad audience.

IODE is a contemporary dance company founded by Kelli Lajiness in 2010 and is housed at MCCC. She continues to serve as the choreographer and director for the company. Members of IODE include Brandon Burns, Katy Dreger, Autumn Hensley, Jake Moskal, Ashley Redfern and Madison Tallerico. Maysie Burns is a member of the Inside Out Junior Company and the members of the Destination Tap Collective include Dreger, Hensley and Kelli Plumb. Guest choreographer and performer this year is Monique Lajiness.

The MCCC Season of Events is made possible through The Foundation of MCCC’s Cultural Enrichment Endowment Fund and the generous donations of Consumers Energy Foundation, DTE Foundation, First Merchants Bank, La-Z-Boy and Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
