THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS CHAPTER 137 SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation Monroe County Community College has awarded the D.A.V. Chapter 137 Scholarship to Madison Salliotte and Evan Bartley. Each $500 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.

Bartley photoBartley, of Monroe, is a 2020 homeschool graduate.  He is pursuing an associate’s degree in applied science  at MCCC, with plans to transfer his credits and pursue a bachelor’s degree in sports management at a four-year university. Evan has volunteered with the Salvation Army, Monroe Community Opportunity Program, 4H and Knights of Columbus. He is also a member of the MCCC Intramural Sports Club. He is the son of Leon and Jennifer Bartley.

 

Salliotte photoSalliotte, of Monroe, is a 2022 graduate of Riverview High School, Riverview, MI. She is planning to pursue a degree in nursing from MCCC. While attending RHS, she was in the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America group and a member of the National Technical Honor Society. She is the daughter of Dawn and James Salliotte.

 

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a resident of Monroe County, MI, and a United States citizen, must be a veteran or the child of a veteran, the veteran must have received an honorable discharge and submit a copy of their DD-214, have a 2.5 grade point average or higher. Financial need may be considered in awarding the scholarship.
