THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE TERRI McCONNAUGHEY SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Terri McConnaughey Scholarship to Brooklyn Kayson. The $500 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.

kayson photoKayson, of South Rockwood, is a 2021 graduate of Airport High School. She is studying graphic design – digital media while attending MCCC. She has served as a student assistant in the Campus Store, as a tutor, a writing fellow and a notetaker for her fellow students through the Disability Services Office. In addition, she is pursuing a Global Studies Designation and is in the MCCC Honors Program. Brooklyn is the daughter of Justin and Melissa Kayson.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must either serve as a MCCC Writing Fellow or be a staff member on the college’s student newspaper, The Agora, and be working part-time during their scholarship year, as defined by 15 hours per week. Preference will be given to a non-traditional age female student. Additionally, a student must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher, and maintain part-time enrollment status of at least six credit hours per semester.
