LISTENING SESSION ON RACE RELATIONS, HEALING AND RECONCILIATION SET FOR FEB. 15 AT MCCC'S LA-Z-BOY CENTER, MEYER THEATER

In recognition of Black History Month, Monroe County Community College, the Coalition for Racial Equality, Equity and Diversity (CREED), and the NAACP of Monroe County will present "LISTEN," a listening session for all who want to share their thoughts on race relations, healing and reconciliation in the community.

The listening session will be held on Feb. 15 at 5:30 p.m. in MCCC's La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater.

The La-Z-Boy Center is located on the Main Campus, 1555 S. Raisinville Rd., Monroe.

The event is free and open to the public. No registration is needed.

Robin West Smith, adjunct instructor of sociology at MCCC and in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at Wayne State University, as well as founder and CEO of the WADE Center for Self Development and an author, will facilitate the listening session.

She holds a master's degree in urban planning and a bachelor's degree in economics from WSU.
