THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE JOHN ‘CORKY’ HANCOCK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the John “Corky” Hancock scholarship to Max Alvarez. The $2,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.

Alvarez, of Monroe, is a 2021 graduate of Allen Park High School. He is studying nuclear engineering technology at MCCC. Max helped coach APHS football and has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. He is the son of Jose and Andrea Alvarez.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be pursuing an associate of applied science degree from any skilled trades program in the Applied Science and Engineering Technology Division. Preference will be given to a student with financial need.
