MCCC'S DESTINATION DANCE SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE IS SEPT. 3; INSIDE OUT DANCE ENSEMBLE HOLDING AUDITIONS SEPT. 12 & 13

Monroe County Community College's Destination Dance School for ages five to adult will host their annual Open House on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 5 - 7 p.m. The Open House will be held in the same location as the classes are taught, Room H-139 in the Welch Health Education Building on the college's main campus, 1555 S. Raisinville Rd., Monroe. 

Classes begin Monday, September 8. Ballet, tap, jazz, modern, theatre and ballroom are all offered and Kelllie Lajiness, instructor and director of the school, also offers private dance lessons. The Destination Dance School also hosts an annual December Showcase (December 11, 2025) and Spring Recital (May 21, 2026) for dancers to demonstrate their skills. In addition, MCCC's renowned Inside Out Dance Ensemble will hold auditions for the season on Friday, September 12, from 5 - 7 p.m. and Saturday, September 13, from 9 - 11 a.m. for experienced dancers over 18 for full company membership, and those 14 and over for apprenticeships. Auditions will be held in Room H-139 in the Welch Health Education Building on the north end of the college's main campus.

IODE is a contemporary dance company that has been housed at MCCC since 2010. Under the direction of Kellie Lajiness, IODE provides sophisticated dance entertainment at events both on campus and off campus for the community.
