Ledger, of Newport, is a 2023 graduate of Jefferson High School. She is studying nursing while at MCCC. She is a member of the MCCC and National Student Nurses Association and leads the first aid service of the Estral Beach Volunteer Fire Department. In addition, Emma volunteers at an area horse barn handling care of the horses, helping children learn to ride and assisting with the Summer Bible Camp. Emma is the daughter of Mark Legger and Kristine Ledger.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a Monroe County resident and a current or former Monroe County firefighter or the sibling, child or grandchild of a firefighter.
