THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE ERIC HARIO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Eric Hario Memorial Scholarship to Anastasia Weekly. The $500 scholarship can be used for tuition and fees.

Weekly, of Erie, is a 2021 graduate of Bedford High School. She is pursuing a degree in Respiratory Therapy at MCCC, where she serves as the historian for the RT Club. Prior to transferring to BHS, Anastasia attended Erie Mason High School where she in student government. She was involved in Girl Scouts all throughout her school years and actively volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Toledo Humane Society and the Toledo Zoo as a ZooTeen.  Anastasia is the daughter of Michelle Weekley and Shaun Weekely.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a veteran, or a spouse, child, adopted-child or grandchild of an honorably discharged veteran, must submit a copy of the veteran’s DD-214, must be a Monroe County, MI, resident and submit a 250-300 word essay answering the question “What does Americanism mean to you?  Students with a family member who belongs to AMVETS will be given preference.
