The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Karen Karau-Collins Memorial Scholarship to David Sparks. The $2,200 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, supplies and books.
Sparks, of Monroe, is a 2003 Trenton High School graduate. He is studying computer science at MCCC. After more than two decades in government service, he has returned to college to pursue a degree in computer science that combines his professional experience with new knowledge in the digital realm. He has been named twice the MCCC Dean’s List for academic recognition. He is the son of Andrea Sparks and Bryan Sparks, spouse of Amber Sparks and children Caleb Schrader, Ava Schrader, Olivia Gower, Deacon Matheney and Wren Sparks.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must maintain at least half-time enrollment status with six credit hours or more and have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
