THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE MIDWAY PRODUCTS – LYMAN E. HOYT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded The Midway Products – Lyman E. Hoyt Memorial Scholarship to George Ferguson. The $2,050 Winter 2025 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.

Ferguson, of Carleton, earned his GED in 2004. In addition to studying the Automotive Service Technology program at MCCC, he is a mentor at his church’s youth program providing life coaching, customer service and communication skills support. George is the son of Judy Ferguson and Samuel Ferguson, Jr.

Current and future students and their parents are reminded that there is still time to submit an online, one-time application for consideration for a 2025-2026 scholarship at www.monroeccc.edu/scholarships. The deadline to apply for more than $325,000 in scholarships is March 1, 2025.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled in one of the following programs at MCCC: automotive engineering technology, mechanical design technology, welding technology, mechanical engineering technology or manufacturing technology. In addition, the student must maintain full-time enrollment status of 12 credit hours or more, must have and maintain a 2.5 grade point average or higher during their scholarship year and must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to a Monroe County resident or a child of a Midway Products, Inc. employee.
