The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Officer Darrian Young Memorial Scholarship to De’Ashia Wallace. The $1,850 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies and other education expenses.
Wallace, of Newport, is a 2012 graduate of Old Redford High School, Detroit, MI. She is studying criminal justice while attending MCCC with a goal of becoming a lawyer. She does a lot of community service with the Washtenaw County Sheriff Department. De’Ashia is the daughter of Demetria Robinson and Johnny Robinson.
