THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE RICHARD H. HICKS & BERNICE HICKS NURSING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Richard H. Hicks and Bernice Hicks Nursing Education Scholarships to Joy Davis, Jillian Fell, Austin Kronk and Rene Walker.   Each $1,725 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.

Davis, of Monroe, is a 2020 graduate of Airport Senior High School.  She is currently in the nursing program at MCCC.  She is a member of Cedar Creek Church in Perrysburg, OH, where she serves on their worship team.  Joy is the daughter of Jonathon Strong, stepdaughter of Heather Strong and fiance to Reuben Hagedorn.

Fell, of Newport, is a 2021 graduate of Airport High School.  She is studying nursing at MCCC and is the president of the Student Nurses Association and is one of the student nursing representatives for her class.  Jillian is the daughter of Richard and Jennifer Fell.

Kronk, of Ottawa Lake, is a 2019 graduate of Bedford High School.  He is studying nursing at MCCC and is a member of the SNA.  Austin is the son of Christie Kronk.

Walker, of Newport, is a 2001 graduate of Southgate High School.  She is studying nursing at MCCC.  Rene is the spouse of Charles Solomon.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must be enrolled in the registered nursing program at MCCC.  Preference is given to students who are veterans or those who have immediate family members who are veterans.
