The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Sonya Kay Brett Memorial Endowed Nursing Scholarship to Caleb Ramsey and Abbigail Schuon. Each $1,825 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Ramsey, of Ida, is a 2023 graduate of Ida High School. He is studying nursing at MCCC and is a member of the Student Nurses Association. Caleb is the son of Denise Ramsey and Marcus Ramsey.
Schuon, of Carleton, is a 2023 graduate of Airport High School. She is pursuing a nursing degree at MCCC and is a member of the Student Nurses Association. Abbigail is the daughter of Carrie Schuon and Jason Schuon.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a second-year student in the Registered Nurse Program, a U.S. citizen and a Monroe County resident. Students must maintain a three-quarter-time enrollment which is defined as nine (9) credit hours.
