THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE TERRI McCONNAUGHEY SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Terri McConnaughey Scholarship to Nicole Schlegel. The $500 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.

Schlegel, of Temperance, is a 2008 graduate of Oscar A. Carlson High School, in Gibraltar, MI. She is pursuing an associate of science degree in pre-education while attending MCCC.   Nicole is a MCCC Writing Fellow and student assistant for Professor Lori Jo Couch.  Nicole is the wife to Christopher and mother to Anthony, Brooklynn, Christopher and James.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must either serve as a MCCC Writing Fellow or be a staff member on the college’s student newspaper, The Agora, and be working part-time during their scholarship year, as defined by 15 hours per week. Preference will be given to a non-traditional age female student. Additionally, a student must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher, and maintain part-time enrollment status of at least six credit hours per semester.
